BlueStacks is known for bringing Android
applications to Macs and PCs, but until today, you could only use one of
those apps at a time on the desktop. That changes today with what
BlueStacks is calling its "biggest update ever."
The biggest addition to BlueStacks 2 is multitasking support.
Previously, apps would take up the entire PC screen, much like they do
on a smartphone. Now, you can run more than one at a time.
"App Player now acts more akin to a Browser interface, allowing users to play multiple apps at once," BlueStacks said in a blog post.
"Keep your messenger running in a tab while you take a stab at new
games. Play an app while another is downloading ... the possibilities
for use are endless."
A new Toolbar on the left side, meanwhile, lets you set location,
shake the screen, adjust volume, and snap screenshots without leaving
the App Player.
This update also comes with new optimizations for some of the users'
most-requested apps, including Angry Birds, Google Chrome, MLB Perfect
Inning, Snapchat, and Temple Run 2.
